advice please, speed gunned :'(

i got speed gunned about 30 mins ago, coming over a bridge, no1 else on the road just me, i go through a set of lights, turn a corner get ages away (not speeding) and i get pulled over, in short he said i was doing 48 in a 30..

anyway after sitting in the car, i said id take it to coart as i was not doing that speed. he said he was going to give me a producer to produce my documents, and id get a summons to court..

i sighned the producer, he took it off me and said have a safe journey home..

i have nothing, no producer nothing atall..

a little advice would be great, isnt there a site for this sort of thing

He should have asked you what station you wanted to take your documents to. I would start by taking them to that station and explaining that he kept the producer, and getting some kind of record that you had produced or at least attempted to.

The fact that he kept the producer might just save you, since he has messed up he might just forget the whole thing. Equally he might destroy the producer and claim you took it, or send it to you in the post. .

If your telling the truth it makes you wonder about these myths that guns read bikes wrongly, i know in the ever trustful Mcn they apparently caught a stationary bike doing 40, they then said something about government not testing them on bikes blah blah Mcn nonesense, but - it does make you wonder

Where did you elect to produce your documents (you're allowed to nominate the station)? If you mentioned somewhere (and you have them) best produce them.

As for the prosecution, expect to hear within 6 months - if you don't, you can forget about it.

i said id take them to barrow station, but how will the woman behind the desk know what she needs to check, he seemed a good enough guy, and tried to advise me, id seen him on my travels about an hour before, i never saw him or the car when he gunned me, but i knew they were out and about so i kept my speed down.

i dont even no the coppers number, name anything.. im so fucking anoyed, just hope to god i dont get points.

the verbal "i intend to report you for the offence of........"is enough.
if you didnt get a slip of paper then you do not have to produce any documents(yet).
he will send his report and "evidence" to the cps who will decide if its worth having a go at a conviction.

that means you were doing a lot less than that.
the fact that he caught you says you were going slower than he was.
what did he use to get your speed?
also look at the punishment for the alleged offence.
if they offer a £60 and 3 points then accept that you got off easy.
if they go for more then fight it all the way

To get you speeding at night he MUST have used the 'VASCAR' system, therefor you will be recorded on video too AND he will have followed you over a set distance, he clearly WAS behind you, they don't generally 'beam down' like on E.T.
He must have been there and you just didn't clock it, shit happens, its extremely easy to creep over the limit on a modern bike.

he said he was at the side of the road with it, it was one of those ones with just the speed on, no video in the car, just a hand held thingy...

{edit} there was no1 behind me, atall, not possible as i was looking behind, im sure he was hiding somewere as i didnt see the car or him, no idea were he could of been.

If you are guilty take it to court anyway and plead guilty on the day just before you go into court. Then you should still only get the three points and the £60 fine. If you are not guilty ask to see the evidence then ask for the procedings to be adjourned to a later date. Then they may give up on the prosicution due to the fact that they may be bluffing. On the other hand they may not be bluffing.
