I ride with my arse as far back as i can on my NSR cos im a lanky bastard (6'4) and its more comfortable. i tried sat forward but cant get my feet in a comfortable possition for the gear and brake levers. My old man sits close to the tank, he recons the bike responds better but he sits back when crusing. anyone noticed a difference siting back/forward

If you've ever been motocrossing, you'll learn that putting your weight on the front will make the bike turn faster, which in theory means that you'll be able to go round corners quicker. I'm pretty sure that the same principle applies to sports bikes.

i always sit right forward in the seat, but I have quite short arms and I like to sit bolt upright.

If your a giant, ride something bigger than an NSR.

i always sit right into the tank, cant really avoid it, cos the seat slides you there automatically

normally sitting upright with straight arms

bent forward with bent arms when pushing it

err....when i ride with aggresion (if thats possibly on a fly?) i sit with my shoulders leaning forward and more hunched over, if it's a "long" haul ride 100+miles i sit relaxed and far back.

I also ride with my feet up on top of the tank or in the centre of the bars, with my arse on the pillion seat, only problem there is changing gear and otherwise it's quiet relaxing.

I was going to say the same thing, but I'll have to try and be original now Confused
I find my position depends on which bike I'm on, how I'm riding and how long I've been of the bike.
The ZZR has a fairly relaxed, upright position, but you can tuck into the fairing easily when you want to crank it open.
The V-Raptor is slightly more forward, so I find I'm a little closer to the tank.
Either way, after about an hour or so on either bike I start changing my position a bit, just to stay comfortable.
