Where Arrow Hullavington, just off M4 J17

When :arrow:Saturday, October 14th: 10:30am until 2:00pm

How much Arrow £30 to do one event, or £50 to do both (phear my negotiating skilz! Razz )

How do I book Arrow If your name is on the 'definite' list below, you just need to turn up, if not please tell me what you want to do (karting, minimoto or both).

What should I bring Arrow For minitmoto I would reccomend you bring the following, however if you don't have or want to use your helmet, etc, then all you will need is provided:
A helmet, providing you're happy to accept that you might crash in it. Comfortable shoes that allow some flexibility (race boots will be too stiff). Jeans or other not too-tight fitting or too-thin trousers. Gloves. A motorcycle jacket. I would reccomend you use older/worn clothing, so not your 'best' jeans, as you may be sliding along the floor on them! For karting I'd reccomend your own helmet, so you don't use one that's been used by a hundred other people that week.

It's in an old hanger, totally covered, so weather isn't a problem.

We have the two activities with an hour between, hopefully, if it's nice, we'll get a BBQ going between them. Bring your own food for this please, if any one else has got a half decent BBQ, it'd probably be useful as I can't fit an awful lot on my current one. (Alternatively, if everyone's willing to chip in some money, I don't mind getting a load of food.

I haven't specificed which we'll do first yet.
I suspect the karting may actually be more physically intensive that minimoto, however you're less likely to hurt yourself doing karting Smile. Preferences will be listened to, then probably ignored!

I will be leaving at 9:30 (eek, why did I arrange this the day after a piss-up Confused) from mine (M4 J12) by car. If anyone needs a car-space, give me a shout.

If people want want to have a few drinks that evening, I'd be up for it, I suspect. (Though everyone may be knackered by the evening Smile ) If no one's got any better ideas, I can provide post-pub futon and floor space in Reading.

If anyone needs a place to stay the night before, I should be able to accomodate, providing you don't mind me wandering in drunk at some stupid time Smile.

Directions to the track:
Hullavington:
Come off M4 at junction 17 (signposted chippenham)
Go right around the roundabout and take the A429 turning, signposted 'Malmsbury'.

This road will take you past a garage on the left hand side and a turning to Hullavington Barracks, don't turn off.
Keep going sttraight on for abut 2 miles. You'll approach some bends and will see a turning on the left hand side on the middle of a right turn, turn onto the road.
Take the turning about 200 yards up the road to the right onto some rough tarmac, this is sign posted. Carry onto the end of this road and you should come to the aircraft hanger where it is held (you go past another one first).

Please be there for 10:30am.

People who have confirmed they are coming and what they are doing:
G (Minimoto/Karting)
Bendy (Karting)
Reuben (Minimoto/maybe Karting)
Barney (Minimoto/Karting)

You can, I'm sure. But unless it's one of the decent cheap ones, I'd use their ones which are a 'proper' make.

(I am of course presuming you've not got one of the 'quality' makes.)

Edit ...
Erm, just to clarify, I'm talking about minimotos, not BBQs! Smile

Chipping in for you to get a load of food in for bbq would be easier, don't mind either way, Can be sorted on the day, gotta ride past a sainsburys on the way so not like it's a long way out Smile.

Lift in car would be cool but if theres no spare spaces then i'll ride... ( if i go up by bike then i don't mind taking a pillion if need be Thumbs Up )

I'm quite happy for you to get the food and give you however much money is needed - we did a BBQ at work for 20 people for £19!

Those directions are if you are coming from the Reading/Swindon direction by the way, if you are coming from the Bristol/Wales direction then it's still J17 but you want the first exit off of the roundabout.

If anyone wants to stop at my place for the night, I have a spare bed an a little floor space (although the builders may have started by then) and am only about 12 miles away Very Happy

Definite for what?

There should be spaces for karing, if there's too many people I suspect we'll be out in two groups as I can't see them turning away extra business.

I have a single car space going from G's house to Hullavington if required. I would ordinarily have more, but the missus is taking the practical car to the Spa so I'm taking the '2.

How many of those are driving/riding?

How many need lifts?

Swaffs, it'd be cool if you could come, for photos, and I can nab advice etc.

My mrs will be there piloting my new SLR.

If you do come down can I borrow that lens please? If that's cool with Geebus.

Who's leaving from Halpin Close?

I might as well grab a lift with someone if there's lots of cars going.

Will need to chuck the BBQ stuff somewhere, though.
No probs taking my car if needed.

Oh and please don't be here and wake me before 9am, I need /some/ sleep! Leaving Halpin Close at 9:30.

I guess I'll be leaving from Halpin close unless Ste sends me a PM with his address asking me to meet at his instead Smile.

/me makes note, if leaving from halpin close knock on G's door at 8:59 then make lots of loud noise whilst he's still hung over Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes (only jokin' G, loves ya really Angelic)
