Well, next week (tuesday to be exact) is the 12 month anniversary of my crash. I only really noticed by accident just now, when I sent off the job application that I was going home to fill out on that fateful day!

Sounds a bit limp, but I've just spent a few minutes thinking about all the shit that's gone on in the last year: the 4 weeks in hospital, the 5 months off work, the christmas spent learning to walk, the huge box of chocolates from Mr and Mrs Kickstart, the simple joy of walking the 300m to my parents house without someone walking in front ready to catch me, getting back on a bike, actually making it back to work in the same role, my first kick-off after that - quite a lot to be getting on with!

I finish my nights the day after the anniversary, so my colleagues are going to mark it by taking me clay pigeon shooting, and then getting me drunk - naturally I won't be doing any riding, just to be on the safe side!

I was pretty horrified when Andy went through all the same crap as well, and felt a fluffy warm feeling when he pulled through too - I feel like I'm in something of a select club now, of proud once-crippled riders!

Thanks to all those who sent good wishes, chocolates or visits, and those who put up with all my dull posts whining about it in the long months afterwards!

All the best

It would make more sense than many of their current policies!

You and Mrs Kickstart made me realise that BCF was slightly more than your average bulletin board - which meant an awful lot to me at the time!

I also learnt that Thorntons are essential for winning the battle to bribe the nurses with the best choccies!

Charlotte has spent long enough in hospital with her leg. We know the benefit of bribing nurses with Chocolate.

All the best

ooh noo this reminded me of your classic post about taking a dump. I can still remeber passages from it now. Had me giggling at my desk again at the memory Smile

Oh great - just what I need!

So if I ever do have a fatal off, or get strung up by the scrotes in a riot, my legacy on BCF will be along the lines of this:

Anon1: "Did you hear? Mister James kicked the bucket last week"
Anon2: "Mister James? The name rings a bell, but......"
Anon1: "You know, the fella who blocked his toilet with a dump bigger than his forearm, then tried to blame it on his opiate-based medication, and ended up getting his mum round to sort it all out with a screwdriver and a pair of gloves from his first aid pouch?"
Anon2: "Oh, right, ermmm, RIP?"

Ermmm, I think I already made that clear, as my epitaph is likely to be faeces related.
