When I changed the forks on my vfr (due to the old ones being bent), the left caliper fits just fine but the right one is only half on the disk, I thought it might be that I have different calipers so I went to see the bloke I got the forks off and the caliper that came off the same bike were the same as mine, the carrier was the same as well, I measured both sets of forks and the mounting points on the new forks are around 5-10mm further up the forks compared to the old ones

I've been thinking since I got home, could the disk on the right side be bigger than the one on the left on the bike they came off? (I didn't ask if he had the old disks or anything but saw the pads and they deffo sat right on the disk)

Any other suggestions?

Both bikes are nc21's

Thanks
Rob

Hi

Would very much doubt the disks would have been different sizes. Most likely they changed the design of the caliper or carrier during its production life, of the bike you have got the bits from had been fitted with forks from another model (NC24 maybe).

All the best

Keith

But the calipers that come off the forks are exactly the same, I really dont understand whats going on!

Unless both disks were bigger and the left side carrier is different (he doesn't have the left carrier)

Right, been looking on ebay and at photos of my bike, found the problem the forks seem to be off an nc24, on an nc24 the calipers are the same but the LEFT carrier is different (the one the bloke didn't have) and the disks are bigger

So now I need a left hand caliper carrier and pair of disks off an nc24!

At least I know what I need now!
