Would wrong/mixture of grades oil cause clutch slipping?

Just that under power the clutch slips slightly before gripping!

means cant pull away very fast. but slow power delivery is fine.

It has a new EBC clutch that was recently fitted.

Hi

Yes, it can cause it. Thicker oil can cause issues occasionally.

All the best

Ill give it an oil and filter change see how it goes. The fella I got it from said when he got the clutch done that it needed to be soaked for a day in oil, so maybe as the oil was low that it needs soaking again?

but I stuck in 15w/40 and not sure what was in there so its a mixture of oils new and 6months old fully synth and semi.

Hi

New plates should be soaked in oil. However not much oil gets on them after that. If dry I would just expect it to be more grabby.

An oil change is cheap and easy.

Worst comes to the worst Yamaha clutches are generally very easy to change the plates on.

All the best

Keith
