I'm a bit of a reading fanatic and I've just come across this site...

https://www.bookcrossing.com/home

It may seem a little geeky to the majority of you, but I think it's a really good idea (in a freecycle with a twist kind of way!

The basic Idea:

1) You buy a book.
2) You read it.
3) You stick a label with the gist of bookcrossing inside.
4) You give it away or leave it someplace for someone else to find it!

Now I normally either give my books away or throw them in the bin unless they are exceptionally good so I've signed up...

I've signed up - but I've not managed to print any labels off to put the books out yet! Embarassed I will get around to it once my printer is fixed - because I have tons of books that could be recycled in this way!

I've just become a Freecycle moderator for my area Very Happy

Someone sent me onto that site a few years ago, what a great concept.

I was well chuffed, and registered straight away, but have not gone any further with the membership. I keep hoping I'll just "find" a book without searching, but so far to no avail Very Happy

I leave them about the place when I'm finished anyway.
Always did, even before the invention of Bookcrossing.

Mind you, leaving a library book on a flight to Sardinia wasn't such a bright idea ... Never did get it back. Cost me a fortune at the library Rolling Eyes

Think I'll go there now, have a look around, not been on Bookcrossing for yonks Very Happy
