I saw this over on www.mcnninjas.co.uk courtesy of Twinkle.

Now we all know that banks can be right gits when it comes to charging for late payments etc so it's time to stick it back to them.

Here's how...

https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/

Basically if you havent got your statements you write to them requesting your last 6 years statements, data protection act means they have to hand everything over for a max £10, not £3 a statement they are likely to want to charge you! Although most places do it free now.

Then you right a letter stating the terms of the contract you orginally took out have been breached, state how much you are claiming back in overlimit, late payment, unpaid DD or bounced cheques. Give them a schedule of charges.

They will write back saying no.

Then write a letter before action, saying you will take them to court.

They write back offering a low amount. Don't take this.

Start a court claim using moneyclaim online. (asl ong as your claim is under 5k)

Papers get served to the bank. They panic and pay out with a letter saying they dont accpet liablity but they are willing to keep you quiet by meeting your demands.

NOT ONE BANK HAS LET A CASE GO TO COURT! If they did a case law would be set and then anyone could claim very easily!

All the info and template you need are on the forum and the people there are very helpful!

So if you've racked up some charges recently here's a way you might be able to get them back Very Happy

I know there is a bunch of us on here that have already claimed. I've got about 800 quid from HSBC and another 200 from MBNA.

Have a look through, there is an old thread on here somewhere with a bunch of good tips on it!

Thumbs Up
