Hi is there any other way to take links of a chain without using a grinder?

The head of the rivet needs to come off some way and a grinder is the best/easiest option I'd say. You can get a cheap one for £10.

I know you can get cheap ones but im out of work lol . Just woundered if there was any other way cheers mate.

exactly what i was thinking lol.

hope its just to remove the chain from the bike.

damage a stretched chain can do is bad.

Hi

If a chain is knackered then taking a link out is a bad idea. However it is entirely possible to have a chain that has stretched too much to be used but can still safely be shortened (eg, gone down a couple of teeth on the sprockets to start with and the chain will almost be out of adjustment before you start).
