all you need is changing the genuine membranes by carbon models . the models seen here is the block reed complete which is not necessary to change . also the models shown are for dirty bikes which are not working in the same range , the membranes are thicker on a dirty bike than on a road bike (they look for a better torque not a high rpm) . a german company makes membranes for your bike at 29 euros with 5 euros shipping . or i've got a site here and i can order those for you . i need a pm with your name & adress , a paypal wire of 52 euros and you'll receive them within 5 days

thats not right, its thinner reeds for low rpm and thicker ones for high rpm. v force are miles better than any aftermarket reed petal - much more reed area and masses more flow.

its not a point of view its a fact.

ask any manufacturer......

Quote:
TDR "HYPER TENSION" REEDS use a Tension Reducing Spacer to reduce the bending resistance of the reed petal. This spacer allows the reed to open quicker. The quick response action of the reed allows the fuel-air mixture to enter the engine faster. With this faster intake action there is an increase in throttle response and low speed performance!

The tension reducing spacer also acts as a progressive tensioning device. The spacer is made of .015" thick material. By putting it on top of the reed petal it creates a gap between the reed and the reed stop. This gap allows the reed to pivot easily at its new pivot point. As the reed continues to open it now comes in contact with the reed stop. By contacting the stop the tension of reed petal is increased. This action creates a progressive tension that increases with rpm and air-flow.

Finally, the "Hyper Tension" petal design comes into play. Standard reeds are of multiple petal design. All multiple design reeds will flutter from low to high RPM’s. The faster the motor runs the worse the flutter. This flutter disturbs the velocity, (air speed), as well as decreases the overall air flow. By changing the reed design to a single or double petal instead of multiple petals the velocity and overall air flow is increased and the motor produces more mid to top end HORSEPOWER!

Q. Which setting works best for reed tension on the VForce2 reed valves?

A. All of our field and dyno testing has consistently proven that the hi tension setting works best for just about any style of riding. You will notice a strong midrange with gains all the way to the top. The low tension setting may be helpful to racers who need all the bottom end they can get, such as enduro racers. Another advantage of the hi tension setting is that we have noticed reed petal life is increased as a result of the chances of the petals contacting the cases being virtually eliminated. You can still do your own comparison and see what works best for your conditions.

Q: What is the difference between single-stage and dual-stage reeds?

A: The stock reeds in your motorcycle are single-stage reeds. Single-stage implies that they are of a one-piece design. Their ability to function efficiently throughout the powerband is limited due to their inherent design. A thin, flexible reed will perform well at low RPMs, but does not perform well at mid to high RPMs. A thicker, stiffer reed will perform well at high RPMs but not at low to mid RPMs. Therefore, one reed of a given thickness and stiffness is not versatile enough to perform effectively throughout the powerband. The end result being that motorcycle manufacturers end up compromising on a reed of a given thickness and stiffness that will provide adequate response.

carbon tech.....

Carbon Tech reeds hold up longer than any reed available. And, our reeds are available in different tensions for different powerbands, that you get to pick. Low Tension (LT) reeds are designed for low end power, Mid Tension (MT) for mid range power, and High Tension (HT) reeds for top end power. Either way you go, you will feel confident knowing you have the best reed available in your motor.

etc.....

well theres a a big rivalry between the v force and the boyesen rad valve, only seen evidence of the v force, but they really do work. replacement petals from any manufacturer for your standard reed blocks make little difference, v force is the way to go.

i know the site dosent list your bike, but you'll probably find its the same reed block from another honda 125, likely one of the cr's. what you need to do is find someone who will cross reference the part numbers for you

thanks, ive left it in the capable hands of alains.

just one thing, i remember from years ago when i had a 125, some said that bending the cage outwards so the reeds could open further benifited the performance. Is this true? Is this worth doing when i install the new reeds?
