We have a christmas party in december and the theme is 'a night at the oscars'... or basically just any fancy dress costume.

...so i'm thinking of the stig Razz so i need to know of anywhere i can get some reasonably cheap white leathers/helmet that look good enough to pass as the stig.

Question Exclamation

the simpson helmet alone would be about 5-600, so im after something a little more affordable!

Check on ebay to see if there are any white race suits available cheap? He doesn't wear leathers it'll be a race suit you need for the full effect.

I mean, would you really want to stay at a party all night in a set of leathers? Wink

theres quite a few cheaper versions of the simpson helmets available
I've seen some for just over £100

edit £250 on my first search
https://www.designerhelmets.co.uk/prodlist.php?cat=Simpson&prod=ECE+Bandit

and I don't think its leather, its more like what the racing drivers wear
a fire retardent suit

Racing suit will be expensive, say £500+ for Sparco ones and maybe double that for genuine Alpinestars. For a one off party maybe ott.

Suggest having a look at just white overalls (cheap and chearful) and adapting as required. Try eBay for £13 ish. As these generally have a V at the neck maybe try a white silk scarf to fill the gap?

Helmet will be expensive unless you can source a crash damaged one that someone will let you have/borrow. Shame helmets can't be had on a sale or return, they're not the sort of thing you can test drive first. Confused

Could always just attack any old bashed up lid with a coat of white gloss, I doubt most people will be picky enough to suss it's not a Simpson.

You can pick up new non f.i a approved race suits for as little as £60 so 2nd hand you should be able to find something for £30-40. Could be tricky getting all white though.

Why not buy a cheap lid, or crash damaged one in any colour and paint it white?

2nd one i went as Darth Vader - my bro went as Darth Maul

Next time i want to go as Adolf Hitler - my main worry is getting to/from the party without having the shit kicked out of me.

Was thinking with something like this style helmet plus goggles (or this complete set) and my suggestion of white overalls and silk scarf he could go as a young Stirling Moss.
At least it keeps the car/racing driver theme Very Happy

....although thinking about it that's probably a bit too retro for any to get.

Its going to be hard to find a white racing suit, Exspecially the type that Stig wears. Since most people dont buy them suits due to even a bit of smoke can change the colour of them and make them look shit. You could try buying one at Demont tweaks or somthing and then taking it back after saying it dosnt fit anymore or somthing.

Whats wrong with one of those paper protective suits, you can then permanent marker the A* logo etc. should be cheap as chips on ebay etc or any hardware store.

Plus your not going to sweat your nads off all night.

Oh ,and wear this underneath Thumbs Up
