I'm (hopefully) hours away from selling my Z750 so I need to make a choice as to what I do with my money. With the sale of the Zed and the bit I've put aside I'll have 3.5k. I'm torn between the following:

1) Due to the time fo the year nice sports bikes are going cheap, I can get a K4/K5 GSXR (600 or 750; in the black and orange - the colour I've always liked most) for around 3.5-3.8k.

I get the sports bike I've always wanted, but how practical/comfortable will it be? I've been test riding the B1H and earlier K1/2s and although they are miles of smiles, they're pretty uncomfortable.

2) I get an older 600 (J ZX6R are going for around 2.2k at the moment) and spend 1k on getting a off-roader, probably a 125cc.

I get to dip my toe in sports and off-road. Thing is, this will be my third ZX6R so 'nothing new' in a sense (although I have loved both my other Ninjas). Also, will a 125 be enough for light green-laning (no jumps) and getting to and from work? It'll probably be a Ninja as they go for a little cheaper than the rest...

I really can't make up my mind so I'm in need of advice...

Thanks for the help Thumbs Up ,
Phil

If I were in your position I would dip my toe into off-roading, though I'd probably get a 4t 250 personally. 'Tis the season - sportsbikes, not so much.

Would broaden your choices though, don't just plump for another zx6, and probably go for a bigger offroad bike - 125 prices are always artificially high anyway. If you look you should pick up a 250 or larger for around £700, which leaves a bit more to spend on the sportsbike.
