Hehehehehe.

I don't think there's a well-known conversion, so you'll be pretty much on your own.

Unfortunately everything else Honda made at the same time that is of about the same weight (vf500, cbx550?) had the same crapulous braking system. I'm pretty sure the commuter-type CB forks are too thin and it's not easy to change the yokes for some reason that escapes me now. I've known a fair few people that wanted to swap them out (I'll include myself in that) but don't know anyone who has actually succeded.

What's the problem with the inboards (apart from the obvious)?

Thanks for that, irving. I was just trying to pass on my personal experience of trying to rid myself of said inboard disks, which was that I don't think there's an easy, drop-in solution, including the contempory CB forks.

Given that, in order to carry out the conversion, you'd have to spend a lot of time down the breakers with a ruler, as you point out.

It's only an opinion on a webmongboard, try not to get too stressed out about it.

EDIT - blimey! the insult has vanished from your post!

Finpos.

Ah, VT500 was was the hideous thing with the hideous brakes.

I don't even remember there being such a thing as a VF500, now I think more about it Smile

Hi

Probably a VF500 (good bikes except for the occasional appetite for cranks, the last bike that really contributed to Hondas reputation for dodgy V4 engines) front end would fit. CBX750 might be a touch heavy to donate a front end. NS400 maybe a good one to grab.

Although the short lived engines of 80s Hondas should mean more front ends around, too many suffered from the inboard disks.

All the best

Keith
