Hi There,

I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on this. A friend of mine has just bought an SR125 off ebay. Collected it and it ran fine however was extremely rattly sounding.

It was taken for an MOT today and passed however the mechanic mentioned that it sounded like the engine was on its last legs. He mentioned it coulb be the main bearing? Does this sound about right to anyone?

Its a 1993 SR125 which has done 18k miles. It has been sat since Dec 05 previous to it being used again just 2 weeks ago when we collected it.

We have also been informed that it could be the cam chain requiring tension? again does this sound like something that could be the case. I know I am stabbing in the dark but we just need to know if it is worth persuing it any further or to get rid of before it becomes a danger!!

Also does anyone know somewhere with a manual for the SR125 eg for oil change etc aside from the haynes guide.

Thanks for any help ahead of time

Francis

Is it a yamaha sr125 or a aprilia sr125 scooter?

My friend has sr125 scooter and I've never seen a bike vibrate and rattle around so much although one time it was a lot worse than usual. I think it was something to do with the engine cradle and it needed replaced.
