Why would my headlight suddenly be poitning up higher than it used to? Had the bike for 8 months no worries but now i notice my lights are shining in the rearview mirrors of the cars in front. Easy to adjust, just wondering if its indicative of a dodgy shock/tyre?

i have noticed the ride being a little harder than it used to be, never really played with suspension settings tho Embarassed

Increasing the pre-load would lower the beam not raise it, the rebound wouldn't make any difference. Check the shock isn't leaking or your rear tyre isn't fat.

By adding pre-load you are making the spring stiffer and unless the shocker is at its maximum extention then the ride height will be raised slightly at the rear.

Agreed but a sudden unexplained headlight height change "could be" down to somebody having a fiddle. It won't make much difference with pre-load but "may" have some.

Or (not knowing what bike) could someone have knocked the light unit and that has done it?
