Due to McDonald's recently pushing my bike over, snapping the fairing. I needed to get it fixed before the MOT. So bought a cheap screen brace and front fairing, forgetting that my bodywork isn't standard.

So naturally the connection between the front fairing and 1 piece side fairing doesn't fit.

However I thought the screen brace would fit. But it doesn't. Is this because it's not standard front fairing it's still slightly different where the brace holds the mirrors on?

Sorry to ask a question straight after a question, but why the hell will it fail an MOT for having a knackered brace? Because it wont hold the lights and mirrors on? I have seen a bike advertised before stating that it needed a new screen for its MOT as the previous one was broken or missing Eh?

As you said, it won't hold the mirrors on. Need mirrors for an MOT pass as far as I know? Also they could fail it for having sharp edges on the snapped bits on fairing and screen.

Its been on here a dozen times, but I cant remember whether you need mirrors for the MOT, quixk check on google and it does nt mention them at all Thinking

If still unsure, just give the MOT station a quick call Thumbs Up

They aren't, but if they were originally fitted on the motorcycle then I think they are required.

I agree that they are probably not required for a pass, but I am saying that it takes the piss that for other aspects of test your're required to have stock parts present.

OK so I don't need my mirrors. But I still want a front fairing that's not cracked!

Is the brace I have now modified to fit the aftermarket fairings then?
