Hi all, i have just bought a 1992 DT50 and it is rather slow! anyone have any tips on getting more performance out of her!!

its lacking in both the power and speed, the engine is totally standard at the moment. the max speed ive had is 40mph.

With a top speed of 40Mph I would think most has been done. A Mopeds "legal" top speed is only 30Mph. You are doing well to get 40Mph as it is. Wink

Yer i think the exhaust restrictor has already been removed...anyone have links to purchase Big Bore kits??

in my opinion, you should get some road experience rather than speed for the moment! seeing as your new to biking.

but if you do fit a bigger cylinder kit remember to run it in fully or it wont be worth buying it in the first place.

i used to have one of those
a gianelli front pipe and up-jetting to suit is what it needs
the porting is pretty good on dt50s
the bore kit is only 10cc more and i think the porting is barely any more aggressive than stock, so the gains are very limited

me and a mate filed the exhaust port up on a 60 kit for one of those
it did 75 at a ridiculous rpm (no rev counter but it was high) before it seized!

yeah when you go up to a bigger 60cc kit you dont get enough lubrication from the pump and quite often you can't adjust them. so its ofter better to premix the oil in the tank to get the required lubrication Very Happy
