hi
as above
i have been running around for years on little mopeds
now bored of 50mph (got a peugeot)
i've booked my theory test, they didn't ask if i had cbt so i assume you dont need to do the two in any particular order
i've had a go at the online bike theory questions(got 34/35 not read highway code for 15 years)
but the hazard perception is a bit of an unknown

anyway assuming i pass my theory test
i want to hire a bike, do my cbt and my practical in as short a time as possible ("crash" course if you like)

i'm not too bothered about being able to jump straight on a sports bike, as i'm only gonna use it round town or for short hops really
but if its only a case of paying a few quid more to hire a bigger bike then it makes sense to do so

is there anywhere that is highly recommended for rider training?
or should i just go to whoever's nearest?

I paid about 600 quid to do my CBT 125 training and DAS. The CBT was a dat course and the schools have there own bikes. This is also true with regards to the 125 training, they will do this with their bikes usually, unless you have your own. Depending on how many lessons on the 125cc you needs usually determines the overall cost of your DAS training. I had never been on a bike in my life before, so had 2 full weekends of 125 work before starting my DAS. This is like a rapid access to bigger bikes, started 500cc lessons on thursday, then did Friday, Monday Tuesday ans Test on Wednesday. The 600 quid included my CBT, all my lessons, the use of the schools bikes, both 125cc and the 500cc, and my test fee. You dont have to have a CBT to do your theory test, but cannot legally ride on a road unless you have CBT. Can't recommend a school mate, as I am based in Warrington.

£500 - £600 should cover it all.

As for the hazard perception test, someone on here advised me to 'click' once when you first spot the hazard. Then 'click' again about 1-2 seconds after, just in case you spotted the hazard too early. The second 'click' ensures you get some points for the hazard. I followed this advice and passed easily.

Yeah the hazard test is a piece of piss mate. As cestrian said, dont be scared of clicking more than once or twice when you see a hazard developing Thumbs Up

Just make sure that you dont continually click, as you will gain no points for the whole clip. Only click when you think there is a hazard. If they think you are rhythmically clicking, they will give you no points at all. Good luck though m8, you will be fine. Thumbs Up

www.theory-test.co.uk

There's a practise on there for the Hazard or it's a fiver to pretty much make sure you pass.

I'd spend a fiver to save £20.
