Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Watch out if you aint renewed your tax!

Just had the council come round and lift my camper off the road and take it to the pound!

No point in getting it back, it needed the head gasket doing anyway, but the charges are enough to put anyone off! £80, doubles to £160 after 24 hrs and £15 a day after that!

I just asked about getting out me cd player, and was told i have to refit the original if I am gonna remove it FFS! add fuckin insult to injury the bastards!

Cunts. I hope they will return the very expensive camping equipment and portable DVD player you had in there. And the golf clubs.

Oh piss off shaggy, your a cheeky tart Laughing Laughing Wink

Drew, please dont start the patronising off, its only half past five, theres all night to go yet!

My point is that the method they have used means I cannot even have a chance to sort it. It was awaiting its head gasket doing, and now to get it back it needs taxing, which requires an mot and insurance, so in effect you have no choice but to surrender your vehicle.

A fine with the chance to have it sorted would have been resonable.

Tis your own stupid fault IMO Middle Finger .

four letters.

SORN.

even SORN needs the vehicle to be 'off the road'.

Wonder if you'd be saying the same if you got a speeding fine for doing 41mph in a 40mph? "It's the law, I did wrong, I'll happily give the government lots of money for this"?

This sort of law is one of the more ridiculous and revenue generating ones that seems to serve no decently useful purpose in the way it's carried out (apart from generating revenue, of course).

Fran; be careful, they may well charge you anyway, regardless of whether or not you get the vehicle back - I would check the details.

Does she really need to be patronised? Despite it being the law, doesn't mean we have to like it or enjoy seeing our possessions being towed away by the council.

I'm sure you would both bend over and happily let them impound your bikes if you forgot to tax them, or have £60 and 3 points for doing 43mph in a 40 zone.

Self righteous bell ends, christ sake Rolling Eyes

Maybe so but it's not like the law isn't clear, any vehicle that is left on the road must be taxed and insured, At the end of the day, anyone that posts on a public forum fishing for sympathy cause they fucked up on something like this (or speeding e.t.c) is an idiot ( IMHO), i'm not trying to make out i'm an angel but if i did what fran did or got caught speeding i wouldn't come looking for help on a public forum...

Indeed, and it's not like you don't get a reminder to either tax it or take it off the road and sorn it in advanced...

I didn't see her fishing for sympathy. Seemed to be a general rant and warning for others.

Nor did I see her looking for help.

Maybe the person that read her post and some how decided she wanted either is actually the idiot!

If you wouldn't look for advice or help on a public forum, when it could actually help you, then I'd suggest you are again the idiot.

Why bother, the DVLA already warn you when your tax is about to run out and what to do when it does.

If you were there you should have got in it. They can't lift it with you inside.
As for the stereo, just take a broken piece of shit and give them that. You make think sod it if it's going to get crushed, but some scabby type will remove it before it gets crushed if it goes that far.

Yeah fran i'd be carefull.

It's all well and good just letting them take it and consider it deadwood!

BUT they may store it for 3 years without telling you and you've then got a hell of a fine and they may come repo your other cars/bikes!

Just something to think about

Why bother warning others?

Maybe because other people don't think it's a particularly bad thing to store a vehicle on the road without having a bit of paper with a '06' or '07' on it.
It seems you do follow only the laws you want to follow.

I'd be willing to bet that if you got a ban for what you think should be a fairly minor infringement (as you're on probabtion I believe) doing something you consider acceptable and safe, you'd be pretty pissed off. But for the moment, you can sit feeling righteous and good about yourself, another criminal off penalised!

Imagine that for something you didn't consider morally wrong or particularly bad in the eyes of the law (say minor speeding), you had your bike taken and you couldn't retrieve it.
How would you feel?

It also may seem hard to understand for some, but if you don't have any where to store a big vehicle like a camper, you've got to either scrap it (selling it with a blown gasket is going to be a bit of a problem). Now I appreciate, many would just say 'well you shouldn't have it'. However some believe that life shouldn't quite so seriosuly disadvantage those that don't have the money to buy what they want when they want.

I was actually being semi serious - the scrotes will help themselves to whatever you had in there, so if you get a chance to claim, it would not be unreasonable to have had camping equipment in a camper, nor a DVD player. The golf clubs were a bit of a push Smile
