Can anyone reccomend a decent priced set and/or the best place to buy them from for my R6. Found a set on ebay and the guy reckons he paid £85 for his and wants 'a sensible offer' but I reckon he's trying to pull a fast one. For any other bike on there they are only around £15 but no R6 ones on there. Thinking

Also I'm trying to get hold of a generator cover gasket but can't seem to find anywhere that does them. Any help greatly appreciated. Thumbs Up

I jacked up my bike (Thunderace) with shorter dog bones but after a 'spirited' ride yesterday will be taking them off. They are good thing for sharpening up the steering (moving your weight to the front of the bike) and giving slightly more leg room, but make your bike lean on the stand a fair bit more, and on mine lock the back brake up at the slightest touch going downhill, and the back end slide when powering out of corners, as there's reduced rear wheel grip. You do get used to it, sort of, but I'm gonna go back to stock as the tyres on my bike are shite touring no grip rubbish (michelin macadams, whatever they are) for now.

Will buy new tyres next year as days are numbered for me on the bike this year, but after yesterday I just got fed up of trying to hustle it and predict which way the back end was going to go.

Another of the riders out with me (on a tuned 163 rwhp blackbird) was gonnajack his up with a spacer, but after seeing the problems I was having he's not gonna bother.

best thing to do is adjust your rear subframe if you want the jacked up look without the handling problems Thumbs Up

you'll need 2 x brackets fabricated, one for the subframe-frame, and one for the exhaust

if youre refering to jack up plates for footpegs
https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MCYCLE&pcode=VLTVM-PAPD01
these are £39.99
try a main dealer for your gasket, or if youre feeling brave get some gasket paper and make one using a ball peen hammer

Think I might leave it then, doesn't sound like they are worth it. I aint really tempted by adjusting the sub frame instead because for me it makes the bike look like its had a rear end shunt and just looks really out of place. Thanks for the help and ideas though. Thumbs Up

Suppose it would look good for a full on naked streetfighter, not for a fully faired bike though. Ruins the lines and shape of the bike.
