Hi,

Im currently rideing a Honda 125 CBR (05) and last year my insrance cost me £1008 TPF&T.
The insurance will expire in around a months time, so I was wondering if having a full (but restricted, as Im 20) lisence would make any difference to the cost of my insurance compaired to just a Provisional?
Would I just be better off getting a bunch of comparion (full vs provisional) quotes to see sometime soon?

Any help is much appreciated.

You would expect so m8. as I went from a 125cc to a 500cc when got my full license, it was hard to compare. Yeah, think your idea of getting two quotes is quite sensible, do it for a couple of insurance groups to get the general idea. Filling in all them on-line forms twice for all of the insurance companies you try will be a bit tedious. Try the insurance for dummys thread for more help.

notepad or word document and type the stuff out one and copy and paste.

Try MCE, Motorcycle Direct, Norwich Union and Carole Nash.

It SHOULD bring it down but i'm not sure by how much. And is it worth it if you can DAS it in under 12 Months? And will you have a years NCB?

When I got my full licence, it made no difference whatsoever. No bike change or anything, and my insurance cost me just as much as before.

I hadn't looked at it. Shocked
That's probably three quarters as much as the bike is worth!

I think shopping around for insurance would save you far more money than passing your test. Where do you live anyway, Northern Ireland?

try MCE. I found them to be a lot cheaper than the 5/600 pound insurance for my CG. £230.

Just did some quick looking around for quotes, got it down to £340.
Then tried MCE....

if it's TPTF you may want to see the difference for Fully COmp because the excess is the same as the insurance.
