Its on tv now, I cant believe that someone would let their child get so fat...tonights kid is 9 years old and 9.5 stone (thats the same weight as me!!!!)

When I was a kid I was barely in, always out somewhere on my bike with my mates. I remember getting told off for missing dinner, on many occasions...nowadays I guess kids sit in front of the tv and computer all their spare time...

Hmmm, I seem to be doing that a lot at the moment myself - although I do have a healthy eating & reg exercise regime...

I'd say it's only the last 5 years where people are getting fat and I blame on the internet. I think I was lucky to be born about 5 years before most kids now as I was still able to go out and play.

All kids do now is go on myspace and MSN.

got some seriously bad scars from that game. Also a fetish for Dirt Jumping on my MTB helped keep me fit and healthy.

Its lots to do with parents aswell. Some parents are overly precious about letting their kids play out.

When I was a kid me and my bro used to cycle 5 miles to the nearest town, go swimming and then cycle home. We would be gone for the largest part of a day.

In fact most of my childhood, I was rarely ever in the house... I remember getting told off for not being home for tea on time.

It's a vicious cycle really.

All we hear on the news nowadays are stories of people being murdered, children being kidnapped and raped, then murdered.

In the BBC's world, pedophiles are everywhere and they're COMING TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN.

Whilst the parents are the ones who should ensure their children are fit and healthy, they must also ensure their safety above all else. Unless you're going to go out with your kids and play hop-skotch with them, how can you promise yourself they won't get lured into someone's van?

Alright, it's unlikely but it's something that you'll hear a new case of every week.

Of course the flip side is that most children therefore stay indoors and hang out on the internet - where there are pedo's everywhere.

Its all the fast food crap on every corner of every street!!!
My sisters kids just eat junk food.
Joshua will have treats, bag of crips or what ever. And once a week/fortnight I will allow him to have a Mcdonalds. It may taste good, but still something needs to be done Thumbs Up
