The public toilets in China dont have cubicle doors, it was most disconcerting to find, that not only do you have to squat over a hole in the floor, wipe your bum with your hand, but also have to do it in full view of everyone else in the room....

Try doing it wearing a daypack, and spare cardigan wrapped round your waist for good measure..!! Tricky...

Mind you have you seen ancient Roman ones? They could have up to 20 seats together, very sociable. They were cleaner though, used to have a channel of water running in front so they could dip a sponge in to wipe their *rses. Thinking about it I 'spose they'd make a hell of a mess of their togas otherwise Thumbs Down

Yep, they dont use paper.
Not just in China though, it was the same in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam too. They use the left hand for the toilet and the right for shaking hands & eating...
