Competition ends here. That is the dog's bollocks. Probably a complete pain in the arse to drive, but you could just look at it and rev the fuck out of it now and again! Laughing

The Gone in 60 Seconds Mustang was the GT500 Shelby. I was unaware they'd started making them again?

So, after the second post was 'american cars are shit' the ensuing posts have featured 8 either american or similar (the mad max falcon, cobra) cars. Right. Anyway.

For a sleeper, The buick GNX. ASC Mclaren tuned 3.8 v6 turbo, ran 12 second quarter miles.

https://img436.imageshack.us/img436/5561/gnxbeastqi4.jpg

For track days, The Corvette C6 Z06. 505bhp in a chassis that will lap the nurburgring considerably faster than a Pagani Zonda F for £230,000 less.

https://img314.imageshack.us/img314/6668/stealthz06ne0.jpg

For a hyper-car, a Heffner performance twin turbocharged Viper GTS. 2 seconds quicker than the Veyron over a quarter of a mile, from a standing start.

https://img270.imageshack.us/img270/1271/heffgtsql0.jpg

For larrying about and going shopping, the wide boy clio with the v6 shoved in the back.

The picture is in fact of a 427 shelby cobra. which was more American than British, actually. there are several give aways, such as the 427 badge on the side, the mahoosive sidepipes with collectors bigger than most peoples heads and the extreme flare on the body.

yes, the picture is a shelby cobra because I couldnt find a decent pic of an AC cobra.

But the fact still remains the AC cobra was a british car.

Maybe. The AC Ace that the Cobra was based on was british, and the ac cobra was built in britain, but then shipped out to the states to have shelby work his magic, and it was reworked, it only weighed 80 lbs more than the original straight six equipped ace.

Unless, of course, it isn't british. however, if you had correctly read my original post, you would see that i had put American or SIMILAR (IE not american but similar style, large v8 motor etc.) and this whole issue could have been avoided.

Its the company that did the one for the film are making big bucks, they take old ones and Pimp the ride to the same standard as a new one.
