Heya...

Just wondering, Whats the differnce? Apart from the tyres and wheel sizes?

The front mud guards seem a lil differnt, is that it?
Can you listen everything I will need to do to make a enduro bike into a Supermoto if I dont it all properly, Every little detail.

THanks Wink

Depends the problems you have with your bike.

Ie need stickier tyres - smaller wheels that can take them.

Wobbly front mud guard at speed - different mud guard.

Not good enough brakes - new caliper, disc or both.

And so on.
Just because someone else has it thier bike, doesn't mean you have to have it on your bike unless you are doing this soley for the purpose of showing off that you've got the bestest supermoto.

Funny you should say thisl...

As one of the things im really liking about Supermotos is there really agressive look. And I dont think I would enjoy my supermoto as much if it didnt have that agressive look Smile

Remember, stuff's gone wrong if you can see the 'aggressive look'. However, that part of course is purely down to what you like.

As G said; most of this is done for style although, done well, it will also improve the function of the motard.

Very basics:

Enduro = very much an off-road bias. Needs to be light and have the ability to churn through dirt. Brakes are not so important as speeds are slower compared to the road.

Supermoto = Enduro bike modified to make it better on the road (although many supermoto tracks have a 'dirt' section): Wheels are made smaller (Talon hubs and Excel rims being popular). The bike is given sticky rubber (there are models aimed specifically at Supermoto). Brakes are overhauled and given a fancy 320mm disc (spacer usually needed). After that there's the chassis and engine modes, the list is endless and very expensive.

The above is biased as I know more about Supermoto then Enduro (something I'm hoping to remedy). That said, I don't claim to know that much about supermoto! Razz

Anyway, there are quite a few 'out of the box' motards on the market but if you're going for the aftermarket avenue, then try and get one where it's been done for you. Before I got my first Supermoto I remember seeking advice; Korn (at the time) recommended a converted XR400 as a good place to start.

As a side note, if you're a skinny bugger do not buy a XR600 kick-start, it's very hard to start! Embarassed
