Or download/install the Fujifilm software and it does every thing for you

the software and supplied lead will easilly transfer the pics through the camera.
You shouldn't have to worry about batteries really. The usb lead acts as a power cable as well, supplying enough power to the camera as it needs to read the pictures. I am not sure about your specific camera, however every camera I have had does the same. If my batteries are flat, it will still transfer the photos!
