Are the filters they give you any good? Are they to be trusted?

I've never had to deal with oil filters before and this looks like a crappy generic non brand one...

Also is Motul 5100 a good oil?

Yep, replace as required.

Motul 5100 is Semi Synth isn't it? I've only ever used FS before :/

Sounds like it may have fallen off the oil filter, it needs to be actually on the filter as you oil it and put it on.

If it is a perfect circle, black and quite thick it is probably off the filter.

Nah it's massive, it'll wrap round the filter about 3 times plus the filter is a push on one so it's not to screw it in with.

It looks like the band on the floor here: (Could it be a gasket for the oil filter cover?)

I don't think 4 strokes require Fully synth, something to do with clutch slip I believe.

Thanks for the info. Does that mean my Bandit 600, which is based on a nearly 20 year old engine would still have to run on semi-synth?

£25 gets you 5 litres of oil and free filters, usually making the oil cost about £5 after you have taken away the prices of filters.

Great deal in my opinion.
