Who's been to the NEC then, where's best to park?

Anyone been yet?

Parked up last year and took me like 30 mins to walk to the hall, followed by a simple 5 min bus ride back to the car.

So any nice person who's been, where's best to park, which bus to catch etc.

( I know I should go on the bike, but there's no space for all the stuff I will buy and im not going alone).

PS Did they have the new Z750 in as in this weeks MCN?

i dont believe u cant get stuff on a bike. i dont think there is that much you could come home with really

panniers, and a big bag slung across them and tied to the back should be able to get it all home, and bike park is located right next to the place

I'd still go in the car anyway, to be honest. An hour and a half on the motorway, followed by an uncomfortable few hours in leathers, lugging round a helmet that everyone tries to bash into? Nothing's actually achieved by going on a bike (in my case), so why would I? To look like a proper biker? Like I care. Laughing It's not like it's some big bike meet, or you'll be with loads of other bikers (in the usual sense), you'll be indoors for the whole time until you go (pretty much).

/dons flame suite and awaits exasperated cries of "plastic biker" etc....

well they do have a service where you can check your helmet (and jacket I think) for a quid and the proceeds to go to riders for health, so everyones a winner. You also get to park pretty damn close to the door and don't have all the traffic queues in and out of the place which is reason enough for me to go by bike (although to be fair this is also influenced by the fact that I dont have a car) Smile

Besides, you get to look down on all the guys who came by car with a kind of smug 'I-is-more-harcore-than-thou' arrogance Wink Razz

I mean WTF? All it does it take up a hand for carrying stuff.

I'm taking the bike but a mate is taking his car - so I'm dumping my helmet and leathers with him! Stuff carrying them around all day, it'll just get on my nerves, not to mention the fact that I'll probably put the helmet down somewhere and forget about it.

Wait for a bus to take you to the hall - they run both ways and for all of the car parks that are signposted for the Bike Show.

Anyone been yet though?

I know a colleagues dad is going today (preview), I was just interested in where's best to park. Bus stop etc.

Might even put a deposit on a bike, if there's any good offers.

Looking at a z750 maybe an s i don't know, don't know what to make of the 2007 in mcn though, so now might be the time to buy, even though i've got a few months till my restriction ends.

Maybe they brought thier gear along, so that they could do a test ride if the chance came up.
