Removal of 33bhp (DVLA wank stains)

I was told that the removal of the 33bhp code which has now ended would be free and that a note saying so would be all that is needed, as i had to send off to get my car added i decieded to do that, i get it back today nothing changed saying i need to pay £19, not what i was told over the phone.
I rang up again to some dippy tart who didnt know anything about it, so i then spoke to a supervisor who said that i need to pay £19 or just leave it, i then told her that my license would then be displaying false information and basicaly riding a bike im not licensed to.

So now even though my 33bhp has ended, it will stay on my license for life because i refuse to pay £19 to get it removed, seems very very silly.

If you send your licence off for a change of address or appearance, or something, you might be able to get it done for free at the same time.

Don't be daft, the 33bhp comes with an expiration date. As long as it is after the expiration date it doesn't matter. No one cares about mine and I've been full power for a number of years now.

Just leave it, or they may take it off automatically when they add the Car entitlement.

The Restriction ended, but the code expires when im 70, its just bothing on my part really having 33bhp on my license when im not longer restricted.

I've had a car license for years and when I passed my bike test I sent off my old paper license with a cheque for £19 as I was going from paper to plastic licence. New licence came back 5 days later and a cheque for £19 came the next week (refund)
They don't always know what they are talking about

Dear Sir or Madam,

I currently hold a Category A motorcycle license, which displays the codes <=25KW ,

I know that this is valid for the first, two years after obtaining the license.

What is the procedure for returning the license to have these codes removed?

I know that legally I do not need to do this, but I could foresee possibly problems as the license does not make it clear this is for 2 years. In particular for motorcycle use overseas, where the local police would not know of UK law.

Thank you for your email.
Once the two-year qualifying period has elapsed, you may ride any size motorcycle.

It is not necessary to have the restriction 25kw, removed from your license.

However, if you wish to have the restriction removed then please complete a D1 application form, (available from the Post Office), applying for an exchange license and return it to the Agency with your license.

Please include a covering letter stating that you wish to have the two-year motorcycle restriction removed.

DVLA are now only issuing photocard driving licenses. If you do not have a photocard license and you wish to have the motorcycle restriction code removed now, you will also need to provide one passport size colour photograph and the requested proof of identity.

I would just say fuck it and ride without the restrictions.

If you crash, just say you lost your licence, If they say " It says on our computer you are only alloud to ride 33bhp bikes " Then say I already payed £19 to get my proper licence blah blah, must be a mistake, you get away with it, the end.

I would actually consider paying £19 to get it removed just because <25kw looks wank.
