Legalise personal CD copies

Seems some think tank is actually suggesting the obvious:-

They suggest that people should be able to make copies of their own CDs for private use.

I was pretty sure that you were permitted to copy CD's providing you had the original disc and box...

In any case it has been shown that music piracy helps the industry as much as hinders by way of word of mouth marketing, take me for instance, I search out new bands I have never heard of - if I like them I tell people and let them hear the stuff at my house, they go out and buy it.

Bear in mind that in a normal situation these bands would never reach the 3-4 of my friends I have told they just gained 4 sales from 1 person who downloaded
