Since I don't work fixed hours, I shall be getting up 'earlier' in order to get as much daylight as possible. What the clock says really isn't that relevant to me.

after spending 2 weeks in thailand where its light at about 5-6am then dark at 6pm (ive been told its always like this) Im not overly convinced it makes a slightest bit of difference,


I suppose the excuse of it makes it safer whilst children head off to school is ok
as for any other reason af makin people happyer because of the sight of more daylight is pish,
they love the winter one as they get an extra hour in bed and hate the summer one cos they get 1 less hour in bed,
if people want to enjoy the daylight in summer I sugest they get up earlyer.

If you were to make some kind of thing out of mirrors, or something very reflective, put some Daylight inside and put a lid on it.
Whenever it gets dark in winter you could then just open it and let that 'saved daylight' out again.

I already work shifts / unsocial hours, so doesn't really make much difference to me if it's dark or light outside when I'm starting or finishing work.

We normally have to work the extra hour on an already long night shift (12 hours) when the clocks go back, so I voted to keep GMT all year round.


Hang on a minute... just thinking about it, and out of the past four years, I've worked three of those 13 hour shifts... I've been diddled!!

Although it's nice to get up in the relative light when the clocks first go back, that doesn't last for long before the mornings get darker and darker, anyway. Couple that with leaving work in the dark PLUS generally idiotic cagers that haven't driven in the dark for months....

And I don't know about you, but when the clocks change, I generally feel knackered for a week or so afterwards while my body clock adjusts.

I think we should just stick to the same time all year round.

You didnt offer enough options. I think we should run BST all year round, or even double BST. In the end most people want more light in the evenings, not mornings. And the children going to school argument is moot anyway as they're all being ferried there anyway these days.

So we should be on WET(Western European time) or even WEST(Western european summer time) all the time IMO
