Hi,

We had a Career Lecture at Uni the other day and she talked about CVs. SHe said that 90% of the time they are not just good enough, however well you may well fit the job, if your CV doesn't cut it then you wont be even considered. Try and take it to a professional or careers adviser for best advice.

Anyways from what I remember she said,

Really sell your self,

i.e

What skills have you learned?

-Analytical and problem solving skills
-Clear logical thinking
-Communication
-Critical evaluation
-Team and Group work
-Organising and planning
- etc etc

You dont need to put your age on now.

Your profile about yourself should be near the top.

List any clubs or extra curricular interests you have been involved with too. Have you done any voluntary or community work, babysitting, worked for a newsagents (paper round), done any summer work - work experience...list what you did there.

Do a search online to find CV styles, there are loads out there!

If I was reading a CV and someone said they rode bikes, it would occur to me that they are more likely to crash and die after training them, hence losing money in training and the cost of having to employ a replacement. So it would go against them.

Maybe employers aren't as pessimistic as me though.
