Are you keeping it garaged? Have you mentioned that you have been riding for a while even though you dont hv NCD on bike?
There are lot of things which matters in insurance. Bennets is a good company. Go for it...
Cheers,
Dew
PS: Not everyday you hear sm1 complaining of low insurance cost I managed to get lowest cost of 990 (TPFT) for new zx6r, but then i hv a theft claim, sp30 and no garage ____________________ Theory: 34/35, 64/75 Test: 23-Oct-06 PASSED (No minors)

jeez i wouldnt dream of paying that kind of money for bike insurance....
told mine i have it garaged but its actually in my dads shed.close enought for me...i informed them i have no no claims for a bike and ive checked all other details so it must be right..
oh and then my brother tryed them for his 50cc scooter insurance.hes just done c.b.t.and on provisional car licence, never been on the road before in his life car or bike and they have quoted him 62 quid for his insurance too.so im guessing its about right...
i allways go for 3rd party only insurance(although some insurance companys charge less to go fully comp) cos i wouldnt bother claiming for any bike or car getting nicked,id rather take a total loss on the car/bike and keep building no claims.
it does sound funny that im complaining about insurance being soo cheap but usually when it sounds too good to be true it usually is... |

See I'm totally gutted about this, I've just got my first bike (Yamaha YBR125), I'm 24, on a CBT, the bike is garaged and I've got no previous convictions. I'm a office worker for a Uni, and I've been driving a car for 6 years.
Fully comp I was quoted £490-590
TPFT I was quoted £345-505
I don't know why I'm was quoted such high numbers, a couple of the insurers actually said that they couldn't insure my postcode. I guess that it must be not having a full license and I've just got an awfully bad postcode and maybe because I'm under 25?
In the end I bit the bullet and took TPFT from AXA at 345 who underwrote the bloke from MCE who "swore on his mothers life I wouldn't find a better offer"! It took a further 10 phone calls but I managed it in the end even though it was only £3.... I do like to take on a challenge ____________________ Current Bikes - Kawasaki ZX-6R (636) | BMW G650GS |

It's fairly frustrating, how old are you Dale?
I picked up my 55 YBR for £1050 it's done 1770miles and is in near perfect nick so I hope I've still saved some money on buying it new. ____________________ Current Bikes - Kawasaki ZX-6R (636) | BMW G650GS |

yeah it is fustrating. im only 17 so thats why its a bit higher for me.
i bought mine for £2000, with free insurance, warranty, clothing, yamcheque etc, i got a good deal really as the dealer threw in quite a lot of freebies, they are even letting me go to their garage and are going to show me how to maintain my bike - for free.
couldnt get a quite lower than £550, and usually 2nd hand ybr's are £1300+ so you got that one quite cheap.
What do you think about the clutch? do you have problems with it, or is just because mine is brand new? clutch seems really sensitive and ive stalled a few times trying to pull off. ____________________

Sounds like you've done pretty well on your deal too! I'm 24 and was shocked at how high the quotes I was getting were... The guy selling the bike wanted to get rid as he's moving away, it was originally on for £1350 but got knocked down after no interest. I don't think the ad was doing it any favours at all! I'm hoping that if I look after it I'll be able to sell it for about the same price or possibly a bit more than what I paid.
I've not quite got the grasp of the clutch either, although I only got it yesterday and I've not had chace to ride it much yet and it's my first time on a clutched bike. My CBT was on a twist and go scooter!
