After I came off last week I noticed I had broken a chunk off my top fairing which I would like to do a bit of a repair on. Whats the best way of doing this? I am guessing a fibreglass patch but am open to suggestions..

cheers

I have bodged a couple of cracks and remounted a lug with fibreglass sheets and resin, not too hard if a little messy and time consuming for a decent finish.

It will be prone to cracking and splitting over time, some companies I believe specialise in repairing plastic panels.

Depends wot they're made of.
If you can get a gander inside and you see ABS sorta stamped into the plastic, you can glue it with Airfix Glue.
But they are oot the game.
Maybe Warhammer use that shite.
It's polystyrene anyway.

Fiberglass wont 'weld' as well to the original material. (Unless of course it's also fiberglass Embarassed)

There is a proper stuff that fills and bonds but it costs about £50 a pack. Might be too much for the repair but cheaper than new panels.

I just got main/underseat/front fairings fannied up and repainted after I blootered off a bitch in a Transit. It looks perfect.
(Never buy a used bike from me.)

It's worth it to ask a local paint shop to do it for you.
They may take pity on you if they like bikes (or stick it up you if they drive a Taxi at the week-ends.)

It will be a much easier prospect and they should oven dry the paints too.

Depends on your taste and personal standards.
Bikes are looked at more closley than cars so flaws are picked out.

And those lazar decals they sell are SHITE!
Just pay for the OEM ones.
They look better and give a quality finish.
Unless your bike is an old piece of shite plugger.
