Nitro NB30s? I bought a pair of these at the NEC last week and they are very comfortable, have reasonable prorection - not tested for water-resistance yet though as it hasn't rained.

I wear these, on and off the bike. Casual style, waterproof, ankle protection, sturdy and comfy

EDIT: More details - the manufacturer is Forma, boots have drytex and I think they're called Overland. ____________________ Dead nobodies in company cars...

Quite expensive, but I've had my pair since 2002 (Hogg all weather original) and they look nearly new still. They are handmade and the only military/walking boot type boots to have a stitched on sole instead of glued on.
I wear them daily and they are extremely comfortable and waterproof. They also give me an extra half an inch in height which is ideal for commuting by motorcycle!
The only downside I have with them is I keep breaking the laces. This is hardly the fault of the boot though!! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Do those shoes offer much more protection than a decent pair of walking boots? |

I was looking at some Alpinestars casual boots like this today (picking up some winter gloves at J&S) - nearly bought a pair - they certainly look tougher than walking boots IMO. (edit - textile walking boots that is ) |

I wear SWAT boots on the ward.
Clicky
I've got the 9" air boots, they are used by military and tactical personnel in airports as it contains no metal to set off detectors. They are comfy as a trainer and just as light so no monster calf muscles needed.
The boots are fastened by laces and a zip up the side so should be safe enough for use on a bike.
Forgot to mention that the Police endorse them too ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy
