Unanswerable question - if you look after them they should last, if you abuse them they might fuck up.

Neither is particularly know for being unreliable.

Are the R6's supposed to be unreliable?

if you take care of any bike it will be reliable

just warm it up before giving it too many revs, check the oil regularly, keep an eye on the brakes, keep the chain oiled and keep it clean and it shouldnt give you too many problems

100% personal preference, they are the same things, sports bikes so will require roughly the same amount of maintenance.

Both are at the higher end of the bike market so are well kitted modern bikes.

(Yamaha build quality is clearly better than suzuki Wink )

If your asking which to go for, i can only give you my opinion and i would say an R6 is nicer.

Good luck Thumbs Up

What year is the R6 as i know the 99/03 have very common gear box faults/transmission failure & the gears are very clunky.

I had a 2000 R6 & that was fine, don't let it put you off as i think it's easily fixed. Someone on here will know more. Smile

How much was you looking to spend?

GSXR600 is bigger size wise than an R1 so if your a small person, the R6 will be fine.

Probably won't find a good one for under £2500, i wouldn't like to go below that as you're either lucky to get a goodun' or there's something there not telling you. Smile

I think you can find SRAD's for around that price tho.

I have been looking on ebay at the R6's and checked out the peoples feedback obviously i would go and look at it before i bought it, can now go a bit higher with the price but not a lot, really got my heart set on the R6 though.

Cheers
