Well after 3 years of riding Ive just recieved my first points (3) . Apparently I was going 50 down a 30 and to be honest I wasnt sure what I was doing so I didnt contest this but the road conditions were fine and there was no traffic around at all.

Now what got me thinking is that if I were doing 20mph over the limit it would be more than 3 points and a £60 fine?

Also how long is it until my license can take up to 12 points?

As Ive stated Im not sure of the speed I was doing but to me 20mph over the limit would recieve a greater fine and more points so Im now wondering if this pig was just trying to get his quota for the month.

What really pissed me off was how he proceeded to explain how hes only doing me a favour as hes seen so many things that happen to riders who crash blah blah and that I dont know how dangerous riding a bike can be- no shit sherlock.

Now would you suggest I take this further or should I just shut up and take the fine , as Im worried that if I am proven to be doing 50 in a 30 will I just get myself into even more shit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated as Ive never had to go through this before

Jake

You got nicked for 20mph over the limit. Accept the 3 points and £60 fine and stop whining.

If you didn't see the officer with the speed gun and didn't know your speed you were driving without due care.

In future open your eyes and pay attention.

You mean you didn't notice a fuck off big car with POLICE written in big letters on the front and a blue light bar on the roof?

They must be ordered to include a sob story about someone dying everytime they stop a road user, always pisses me off when they get all preachy, give me my ticket and fuck off you slice of bacon.

I would accept the fine if I was you and be EXTRA careful for the remainder of your 2 year '6 point' limit.

Lol Your right I didn't notice it as it was far behind me but when I noticed a car up my arse with blinding xenon lights I knew but by then of course it was too late.

Thanks for the comments and Im going to have to behave myself for a while now.

Take the points and pay the fine. Doesnt matter what you do to try and convince them, you wont get away with it.

Got to watch them 30's, mate... Sounds like you had a result, in a weird sort of way.

20 over the top must have been right on the mark for something a bit meatier than 3 points.

Harold_Shand's theory might be the best explanation.

Yeah he did caution me as well as the NIP.

Ill just have to take this as a lesson and learn from it. It looks like I may have gotten away lightly with this so I should be greatful.

Thanks
