Hello

I need a bit of help i was wondering does anyone know about importing off road bikes into ireland from china.
what i want to know is what is involved into bringing bikes into ireland? how hard is it to get them through customs?
Is there anymore fees involved for when they come into dublin port even if you have the bikes paid for already and the shipping was paid for?
Do they have to be registered?
can anyone give me some help on this.
Cheers

Put it this way, if you're trying to save a few quid on an english purchase...

1. It probably wont save you that much once you've factored all the costs in

2. If you're thinking of buying a Chinese-made bike, you're really gonna struggle to find spares and 2nd buyers.

Make sure you sort the 2 things above. (I would leave them well alone. You're better off buying a 2nd hand bike from your local dealer!)

Either way, good luck! Thumbs Up

anyone watch Watchdog this week? there was a company who've imported shed loads of chinese 'copys' of yams and kwaks, and they've all pretty much fallen apart. They had a mob of angry customers on there with crying 8 year olds on their arms cos their xmas presents fell apart Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I cant speak from personal experience but seems the majority advise to steer well clear. Probably better off spending the £500 - £800 (however much they are) on a used Suzuki/Yam/Kwak etc

If they seem too good to be true, chances are its true
