Yesterday I found an old copy of TWO where they go to London and pretend to be couriers for a day with a controller shouting down the radio giving them fake deliveries to do.

Today taking a quick shortcut through WHSmiths I saw those boxes that say buy an experience say sky diving hang glinding drive a tank or what not.

both these ideas clicked and I though

So how about a courier day/week taster session? ,

you know two types , sickos like me who like fast filtering dangerous narrow gaps on a battered shaftie, who want to experience it once in their lives but don't particularly enjoy changing BT45s on a daily basis and or the running of a business which is couriering essentially.

or those who think they are good enough to be couriers only for other proper couriers to laugh at them and insult them.

and give them some sort of score card, the best being recommended to join with a local company , the crap ones with never ever be a courier you ain't good enough kid.

ie you can have a go but not take all the massive costs in one hit then to realise you hate it,

(been a boring lunch)

i was thinking of doing pizza delivery for the extra cash. Would be a laugh to see how long the their bike would last.. I wouldnt mind couriering but theres nowhere down here in plymouth that do it (Well there is but I think its all on bicycles Sad). Anyhow it seems like fun but I bet its horrible having to go out in the pissing rain and cold all night and have no choice in the matter..

Here's 42 courier companies in Plymouth. Sure at least a few of them do Motorbikes.

have you seen the devon and cornwall road safety site?

37 cameras I think it was in plymouth compared to the 5 or something exeter has! Exeter is way bigger than plymouth aswell! I know where all the cameras are anyhow. Just gotta remember to slow down for them..

See, I'd love to be a courier. I just enjoy sitting on my bike and buzzing around all over the place. But alas, insurance is a bastard. £2,500 I was quoted for Courier Insurance, and that was with 3yrs NCB. But hey. They said to try when I'm 25. So only 4 more years to wait, I guess...

Plenty of couriers will happily do that for you Very Happy Just get in front of them in a queue of traffic.

Even I've learnt to shout "You could get a bus through that gap, mate!" at noobs Laughing

LOL

Well, ok, to be fair a few companies do provide bikes. Don't expect them to be "performance" bikes.

Courier life sure is "great". They all get to sit around drinking damp cups of coffee and moaning about waterproofs that aren't; rain; controllers; rain; jobs that don't "go together"; rain; Brazilians/Polish doing everything for cheap; rain; no decent guarantees any more; rain; and the price of petrol/tyres.

Go sit with the chaps at Coffee Republic in Great Marlborough St for a day. Tell them I sent ya Smile They might be nicer to you Twisted Evil
(I can hear it now ... "hellkat who?")

(mind out for the big handsome scottish one, though: he's a bit dodgy, LOL)

Well then, remember to leave space for them at the front, too.

Couriers will bitch at you about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.

Bless all their waterproof little Goretex socks Mr. Green

And don't chat up the redheaded bird who looks like Charlie Dimmock but with a better figure.

She's my mate, and her bloke (and mine) will clump anybody who tries it on.

I leave space, but arrogance aside, if there are bikes behind me and i cant leave a gap without doing something stupid. I make sure i get a perfect start so the next one or two bikes can get off the line before the first cars do. If they so wish.
