You need at least a new right clip-on to ride it, but apart from it looks alright Smile Don't buy brand new parts unless you really have to, you should be able to get most stuff from ebay/breakers or even Zimma if he's got any parts left. Personally I wouldn't bother repairing the fairing for a bit, at least until you get used to to the bike.

Maybe get an arrow system second-hand? It'd look, sound and go slightly better than standard. I think someone was selling one in the classifieds section.

might be as wise to sand the rust off and get some paint to cover the whole exhaust with.

Hi

No, that rust on the exhaust doesn't look too bad. You should be able to clean that up easily. More worrying is the corrosion on the rear brake caliper. Shouldn't have got that bad in 4 years.

All the best

Keith

Looks like mine after I spilt brake fluid on it.

calipers are expensive, but being aluminium corrosion it shouldn't be a problem - i'd just strip it and clean it, and hope it works ok. Failing that a caliper from a breakers won't set you back too far.

Hi

Yes it does look like Cols calipers, except that his is 4 times the age. A caliper isn't expensive 2nd hand, but it does make me wonder what else is corroded.

I would suspect that bike was crashed some time ago and has then spent a long time being stored, probably outside.

All the best

Keith

It is pretty heavily corroded, but looks like it should clear up.

Its also worth remembering that NSRs have absolutely horrendous build and materials quality for Honda.

Be worth getting it, getting it roadworthy, riding it around for a bit and just fixing stuff as and when it breaks, then sell it.

Does the bike actually run? i mean will it start, and have you heard it? Just wondering, because if it was dumped in a stream or river there might be some serious rust in places you cant see.....

For £1100 i would just buy an older, but running bike. After all, how long are you likely to keep a 125 for? A year, 2 at the most!

But if he buys this for £1100 and gets it fixed up he could make money on it.
