Ok, so yesterday at about lunch time I was at work when I get a call from me mam telling me the dogs kidneys have packed up and she has been taken into the PDSA Animal hospital to be moniterd for 48 hours on Medication.
Tomorrow morning they are going to do a final Blood test, and if theres no improvement, then they are putting her to sleep.
The odds are low, very low. So In the morning before work im going to the Vets to see her. Say good bye and whatever else I have to do.
Will probably take some photos too.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/binge/tara1.jpg
Then ill be off to work as normal. Try to get through the day, serving customers as normal.
Ill then be waiting for that phone call to say wheather shes got the all clear and can come home. Or wheather im not going to see her again.
As most of you are probably thinking "Its just a dog". Well she is just a dog, but shes been with us for the past 9 years.
I remember when I was 10 years old, we went to my mams friends house, where her dog had just given birth to 10 pups.
I remember choosing tara out of the other 10 because she was the only Ginger one in the whole litter.
2 weeks later, the mother turned her back on 5 of the pups because she couldnt handle the whole litter. So we had to bring tara home when she was still not much bigger than a hamster.
We used to sit her in the palm of our hands and feed her milk out of a syringe.
Shes been part of the best 9 years of my life. And for it to come to this, Its just completely blown my world apart. And its not so much the fact that she may die. Its the waiting to find out thats worse.
Anyway, Ive got a video of her here, Ive tried uploading it to BCF but its not having it, So ive uploaded it through photobucket instead.
If anybody could convert this to 3GP Format id appreciate it. As my Converter leave a great big water mark in the middle saying "This is an unregisterd version of blah blah blah"...
heres the URL to the video.

Thanks...

I know exactly how you feel. Our cat Maya was recently put down because of liver failure, my whole family was on holiday so I had to take her to the vets, have her put on a drip and then put down the next day. The bit that upset me most is when I got home with her in a box and the dog was jumping up and whining, knowing that Maya was in there dead.
It's just a horrible thing to have to do, I hope she pulls through so best of luck for tomorrow. |

Hey, hope it works out.
I love my dog to bits, but I know in the back of my mind he's coming up to the age where he's not going to be around much longer. I know I'm going to be gutted when the time comes.
Peace & strength to you |

I hate owning a dog.
The mess they make as pups.
The shit they do and you have to lift.
The times you can't do what you want coz you have to look after a big useless hairy mut.
The smell they make in your house.
The hair they leave on all your clothes.
And that big hole they leave when it's time for them to leave you.
Poor wee doggy. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

This morning I arrived at the PDSA, my rents and little sister were waiting there for me so we could all go in together to collect Tara.
When we got inside, The vet pretty much told us straight away that Tara needs to be put down.
Well that was it, My sister and mam broke down. its the only proper family pet we have ever had and lost like that. We had a Doberman back in 1989 but gave her away because me dad Joined the army.
Other than that, Just a couple of Chipmonks and a Gold fish.
Never had anything you can really get attached to and love like a dog.
So we left the PDSA, and went for a little walk with Tara. Let her run around, Show off infront of us. Catch sticks etc. Thats what hurt most, She didnt even look or act like she was Ill.
Me and my sister said our final goodbyes and got in my car. I had to be at work and the sister was supposed to be in school.
Mam and dad got in their car and took Tara to the other vets.
They let her "Wind Surf" out of the window one last time.
Then a bit later on I got a call from my mam. She just wanted to tell me that when she was put to sleep, it was a nice feeling watching her close her eyes and just know she is now resting and out of pain.
I cant really see my mam letting us get another dog, simply because if felt like we lost a member of the family this morning.
Appologies for the long post, Its just been running through my head all day.
Just felt that BCF urge to go and spill it all out to 1000s of people I dont know!
Ta for reading. Heres the last photo I took of her. Outside the PDSA with her little bandaged up leg.

Always, but ALWAYS think of the good times. They're the best
I've had cats, dogs, rabbits, gerbils, ferrets, guinea pigs and even goldfish that I've had to say 'Goodnight' to. And it hurts every time. Maybe I'm just sentimental, but I cried for each and every pet I ever owned.
But, the worst was when my Dad died in my arms. Now that Really hurt and, unlike pets, it's something you never forget.
But, I always remember the GOOD times with him and it enlightens my spirits every time.
So, always remember the GOOD times

Cheers guys. Ive just got in. Been at me mams house all day. I climbed up in to the loft and dug out all the old photos of when tara was a new born. Right up until we left cyprus. (When normal cameras became a thing of the past).
Got a little ice breaker though, Whilst we were routing through the photographs, Welling up at photos of her as a pup. I found a photo of myself. probably about 2 years old. Sat on my potty, taking a shut, Reading a book!
I dont have a scanner so I cant really get a decent copy of it. Otherwise id upload to give you all a giggle!
I Just still cant believe shes gone, Cant quite get my head around it yet. |

Wotcha.
Not a lot to say that ain't already been said by folks who've "been there - done that"
I still miss my hairy friend but the good memories always outweigh the bad ones.
The reason why sidecars were invented
Must be the time of year or summat - that makes at least three dogs gone in the last few weeks. ____________________ Cheers.

Had the same happen, even worse she had pups and we so nearly kept one, but didn't
Really wish we could get another, my sister has a dog thats so freakishly similar its scarey, acts the same, looks similar, it weirds my dad out i can tell..
If you can get another then imo you should, maybe not right away but.. it just gets harder and has been said good memorys will outweigh the bad ones, all good things and all that
Hope things work out  ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Ello,
I lost my friend of 13 years earlier on this year...still brings a glaze to my eyes when I think about it.
I heard and felt his last breath as I held him whilst the injection was made...then leaving his lifeless body behind...
He used to live in the conservatory, so we could always see each through the doors...and I remember the first fews after he had "gone", that I just stood at the patio doors looking into an empty room...was so weird and heartbreaking...his toys...his bowls...his bed...always expecting him to come back in from his "trips" to the garden....
You'll cope with it soon mate...she'll always be alive in your heart... ____________________ TiN

Oh man!!!
What a shit situation to be in 'Binge'.. I lost a Labrador almost 10 years ago and it still hurts, can't ever talk about her.
I now have another of 11 and i'm shitting myself at the thought of her leaving me too, they aren't JUST dogs, they are characters, friends, companions.
My 'Sally' who died left a big gaping hole in my life. She was cremated in a pet cemetry in Hampshire which is a listed building, only the very best send off for an innocent loving friend.

I held Tara (my dog) as she was put down, I held Rio ( my other dog & Tara's
daughter) as she was put down, both times I wept as I felt part of my family
was being lost I had to be there with them as I could not just
walk away from them at their breath, they meant too much to me,
very hard thing to do and can still see them when they stopped breathing.
I feel for your loss m8 ____________________ The more you ram the better she likes it
