So, how do you know what type of exhaust will fit your bike, because I see exhausts listed for certain types of bikes..

Which one would fit my XR 125L?

If you are asking because you can't find one that does say 'Fits XL125L' then you are entering a world of guesswork and grief!

It's possible other exhausts would fit.....possible that they would work OK....possible that they wouldn't try and run through bits of frame or bodywork..... You would only find out when you try and fit it. Not recommended for the uninitiated! Incidentally...trail bikes are worse for this since their pipework is tucked into the frame.

When someone makes an exhaust for a particular bike, it will fit, bolt on in the correct places, and work OK with your engine. Only buy one that says it fits your bike!

Mate, sorry to say that no amount of work will make your XR sound nice or make it go any faster. I had one for a year and a half, was a nice bike but because the exhaust is single piece, you'd have to either cut off the end can and replace with something with a slip on arrangement and weld on.

But for your information, check out arrow and leo vince. They both do exhausts for the XR, replacing the whole system for a princely sum of 450 quid or so. Not worth it.

I'd say lop off the airbox lid and it'll make it sound deeper at the expense of losing a lot of engine response.
