Do a search... I, at least have written on it a few times.

First thing:
Don't bother, to get good at doing them on a NSR you will have to be a /very/ good wheelie 'artist' to start with.

Right, as you'll still want to try:
I've had best luck bouncing them up, start with teh engine at about 7-8k, stand up.
Push down on the pegs with your feet while clsoing the throttle, then crack it open as the suspension decompresses. Try to keep your weight back.
It is possible to get it quite high with this method, it'll be nigh on impossible to balance if you get it up that high, unless you're incrdibly good though.

I asked about this topic a couplea weeks back, search for it and it should be here somewhere... not that hard to get the front end up but keeping it up is the hard bit. Confused

Good luck,
Cam.

Learn on a scooter, Shane 'Shakey' Burn said in an interview about how he learnt this way before he could do it on a bike. Having no clutch or gears to worry about and the size of them makes it easier to learn.

Get some lessons off Podge!

And a scooter's got a much shorter wheel base, with the weight distribution towards the rear, which means that it should be easier to control.

A 125 is a bad bike for learning wheelies.

You want something tourquey, like a bigger trail bike, which also crash well.

You are /very/ unlikely to crash wheelies initially.
To start with the limiting factor of your wheelie is going to be fear, which means you aint gonna flip it because you naturally shut off before it gets to high Smile

It's when you start pushing the boundaries or ignore obvious signs (like I did Confused) that you're more likely to crash.

If you want a general bike for messing about doing stunts then it's more reasonable.
A bandit 6 might be okay, suitable down geared and can be got for not much now a days.

Whatever you get, down gear it and it should help a bit.

You could always buy an old cg or sr Wink for around £300. I know they're shite for learning tricks BUT they cost nought!

I'm tempted in modifying the rear grab bar so I can fit my foot nicely in there resulting in getting the front up easily and quickly. There's just the matter of 'bottle', I still haven't got past this yet Sad

That's if you want to spend little cash?

TBH I think you're more likely to hurt yourself on a 125, even with extra wheelie bars etc, because it's going to be a lot harder to control.

If you get something with disc brakes it will probably be okay for everything bar wheelies.
Wouldn't reccomend one for trying to find the balance point in wheelies.

like jon said, its just a matter of bottle until you get to know your own comfortable balance point and then its just a matter of testing yourself how far you can go

I can;t see you injuring yourself to badly, but I also can't see it good for confidence for someone that is less used to coming of their bike Wink.

Ie, if every time you get it to the balance point, you end up on your arse, hurting, then you're probably going to form bad associations Smile

Thanks for the tips/advice guys.... I'm still gonna try it!!!

Well, after derestricting and getting it to a ton, stoppies and burnouts, the last conquest is the wheelie....

AND I WILL GET HER POINTING AT THE SKY!!!!!

But i dont wanna drop her Sad

I know, wheelies is just about lots of practise and patience til you get the technique, just wanted to see if it was pos on the NSR Twisted Evil

Cheers

That would be my point... by the time you're getting it high enough to get it to the balance poin the probability is you're gonna have done whatever you're doing to get it that high a little to much... thus end up on your arse Smile
