Hi,
This may be a stupid question but can you take road legal bikes onto motocross tracks? I only ask as round where I live theres not alot of places to go off roading except at actual motcross tracks and I don't have a van to transport a bike so would have to ride it to the track.

You can take road legal bikes on MX practice tracks, yes. Mirrors (if present) must be removed and if the headlight is glass you'll have to tape it up or take that off too. Not sure about the number plate, but that will possibly have to come off as well.

Obviously we're talking dirt bikes here, not your ZX6R with a set of knobblies... Razz

Yes, we do have supercross - basically indoor motocross!

Did you know that motocross was a UK "invention"? But as with most things, it took the Europeans (particularly the French) to give it the profile it deserves.

Most tracks will let you take almost anything out, but be aware that some tracks seem to be inhabited by crazy MXers, who won't think twice about barging you out of the way so they can keep to the racing line.

Oh, and watch for the young kids with natural talent and no sense of fear - we'll never be as good as them, not in a month of Sundays Sad
