Gotta say, i'm loving every minute on my bike so far!!

I've only been riding just over a week - i went and took my CBT and picked up my NSR at the same time last friday, and have already clocked up nearly 800 miles! Shocked
The day after my CBT i was going on holiday to dorset, and decided to ride down instead of driving. 160 mile trip on the A roads, but was fun all the way! Rode down with my sisters boyfriend so that he could 'look after me Very Happy ' on his bandit 1200 (yeah he did wait for me lol!).

Some of the roads around there are excellent for a blast on the bike, quiet, twisty and in much better condition than the roads where i live! The weather helped too.

I'm loving every minute! the car has not moved since the day before my CBT, and i dont think it will be anytime soon. Ok so i only ride an NSR, its not exactly a rocketship - but it suits me for a first bike.

Had some good laughs too! Had it a few times where i've pulled alongside some kid in his tacky nova/escort/fiesta/saxo with music farting out, and he looks with a smug face cause he can hear the tinny 2-stroke nsr sound, then he gives it some when he pulls away and even the restricted nsr pulls away from him easily, and he looks stupid infront of his mates/schoolgirls.

Can anyone tell i'm bored at work!? Cool

What do you all enjoy most about your bike? Any good/funny stories would be good Smile

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself mate Mr. Green

I loved every minute on my NSR Very Happy Even though it's 'only' a 125 some of the best rides were on that bike...

One day I decided to go for a ride to Herne Bay with my mate. We both had new NSR's and the whole journey we were laughing our tits off under our bash hats Very Happy Sitting at an indicated 100 taking turns to slipstream each other for 20 odd miles of the M2 motorway. Great stuff.

Thanks for the replies Very Happy 100mph on the 'lil nsr sounds like fun - gonna whip out me drill and gaffer tape (lol) this week and try to get it de-restricted Mr. Green as everyone says it then feels like a new bike! Dont know if anyone on the board is from around beds/herts area, if anyone is and feels like a blast sometime just give me a shout! The people i ride with at the min have a bandit 1200, a GSXR600, a VFR800 and one of the old shape 600 ninja's (ZX6?) - so it would be good to ride with someone with a similar engine as me, as i just embaress this 600's and 800's with the NSR's sheer power, they just cant keep up Laughing Laughing Mr. Green

I've had the NSR for over a year. And i still go out for a play on the bike.
Still has me smiling all the way, even if it feels a bit predictable now,
but makes me want to ride ith that little bit harder and faster.
Colin is the same an his owned his for over 2'5 years.
So that says something if it can still bring a smile.

And it definetly has its own charater.

hehe, i too was looking forward to getting mine, felt like a kid at christmas! are you still getting the black/silver/yellow one from the salvage dealers that you posted in your other thread? Will be a nice bike once you've replaced the damaged bits. Hope you enjoy it as much as i do!

Good luck with your bike, hope all goes well.

To be fair 99% of salvage comes without a V5 document, u have to get a form from the post office and the DVLA will send you another V5 (it will still contain all the previous owner details etc - its just a reprint). As i say, you'd be VERY lucky to buy anything from a salvage dealer with any kind of V5 / service book, and sometimes lucky to get a key. When my car was written off i was never asked for the V5, service book, handbook or keys - i still have them all!

I would be worried if i was buying a car/bike from a dealer and it had no V5, because that is a bit dodgy, whereas from a salvage dealer, you KNOW the bike was written off, whats the worst that can happen Very Happy

But i do agree, buying a bike from one of the well known guys on here is probably a better option! At least you will be able to ride it as soon as you get it, and not spend time effort and money trying to get it roadworthy!
