Just been out down the river and the joys of a single rear brake, side ways skids and lots of bumps and bruises never fail to delight!
Only managed to bin it once hahaha, but a handle bar in the stomach, and nice wrecked in knees never did anyone any harm.
Anyone still got one at my ripe old age? go on giz us yer best offs on a BMX |

What about when your foot slips of the pedal and the metal studs on the pedals slam into your shins, killas they are ____________________ Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles |

Going over the handlebars when pulling the front brake too hard, not to mention the nuts making contact with the bars or back bone ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

We have a BMX, but I never use it (use the mountain bike now), it is my bros' bike. Anyway I think I would look a bit silly on it.
Last time I used a BMX properly was about 3 or 4 years ago. I was going to go down a massive steep hill that had jagged rocks sticking out of the side of it all the way down. Now my brother must have forgotten to tighten the handlebar part to the rest of the frame properly, because when I hit a rock with the front wheel, the handlebars buckled and slid around. So that now my hands were about at the same level as where the pedals were. (Try controlling a bike going downhill at about 30mph like that!!) I was shitting myself all the way down the hill, trying to stay up and trying to keep the bike from smashing into a tree that was directly in my path. Luckily I somehow made it to the bottom of the hill OK. It was such an adrenalin rush though! But have never properly ridden a BMX since then. Probably because I didn't have the time. |

My best off was on a mountain bike (was a semi pro downhiller). Resulted in 3 fractured vertebrae, learning to walk, and rehab taking over a year.
Have also fractured (in no particular order), fingers, both hands, both wrists, toes, both legs, knee cap, jaw, skull, and ribs.
Not bad eh? Doctors said i'd never walk or ride. If only they knew... |

Dont know whether it is just me but my worst offys on bmx's always involved sudden stops or collisions with stuff and being hurled forward to then make crotch - headstock contact before my feet touched the floor now that did nearly make me cry
But suppose being one of the few hobbits on the forum most of u lot never had that problem |

I have seen a guy split his scrotum open on the bar between the saddle and the handlebars, that was hilarious |

I have never ever tried riding a bmx...but i think at 6'3" i'd be a little bit to big for one
I used to ride downhill.....but now just resorted to mountain biking and cross country....well i did until i couldnt be bothered and became unfit
Just imagine organising a ride but with one side note....push bikes only.

I remember my BMX'ing days on a Raleigh Burner in the 80's. . I used to race up at the three sisters course and managed to survive flying off the top of a banked corner at full speed. .
I managed to destroy so many sets of brakes and wheels dropping off walls and doing tricks.
Worst smash I had was a mountain bike crash. 40mph into a grass bank. Still got the mashed wrists (causing constant pain when riding the zzr ) 12 years on... managed to carve a chunk out of my arm and road rash off a large proportion of my chest skin.
6 years ago the bike pitched me off on a corner when cycling to work which broke my elbow and 2 years ago a dog walker on the left, a dog on the right of the path and a thin black extendable dog lead between the pair caused me to slam on, go over the bars and land on my head. Still got the scars...
