https://www.heyokamagazine.com/30.08.04_%20Jethro-Tull%2011.jpg
got myself on front row centre for shepherds bush on the 31st, cant wait, got these guys in support for the london gigs, so should be a very impressive evening
after seeing them last year, i cannot recommend them enough to anyone who likes to listen to real music
| Quote: | "Since 1968, Ian Anderson has brought his unique and innovative style of flute and acoustic guitar playing to a public raised on a diet of the more familiar sounds of Rock and electric guitar-based bands.
The second Tull album Stand Up, featured the newly-recruited Martin Barre on guitar and showed Ian’s eclectic and more acoustic leanings which were highlighted on subsequent albums like Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, Warchild, Minstrel In The Gallery and most of the Tull record catalogue through the 70’s and 80’s.
More recently, Anderson has further developed his acoustic performances in his internationally acclaimed Orchestral concerts and with his three solo albums, Divinities, Secret Language Of Birds and Rupi’s Dance.
“I have been the un-plugged guy in a moderately loud Rock band for 39 years now,” he says, “and it is a great joy to explore the Tull repertoire, Rock, Folk and Classical alike, with both new and old acoustic arrangements of these classic songs and instrumentals.”
Featuring a guest soloist on the violin on these tours and concerts, will bring a new dimension to the musical legacy which is Jethro Tull and long-standing guitarist Martin Barre will have the opportunity to demonstrate his skills with the acoustic guitar and mandolin in addition to the odd foray on the electric instrument he is so known for.
Ian, too, will have mandolin to hand as well as the various flute-family of instruments and his now-famous, three-quarter sized parlour guitar which he plays, he quips, in order to make himself look taller…. " |

aye, hexagon is ideal for me obviously, but its a wednesday, and im also rather fond of the sheperds bush empire as a venue, plus it has the orchestra support
piece of piss to drive into west london, park up in ruislip and get the tube straight to the gig
and my seats are sweet, and reserved, so i'll make do with london
