I seriously can't believe how people moan about MSN!

I moan about most things but even I don't moan about MSN!!! Laughing

It works 99% of the time (does for me anyway!) it works really well, its easy to use, clean tidy doesnt wreck your pc and puts you into easy contact with friends, family, colleauges and new people you might meet on the interweb..

And it costs?? feck all!

Nuff said!

been working for me all day...

what's to say it was MSN at fault, and not a switch or router?

Just because only MSN Messenger was affected doesn't mean it has to be the software at fault.

Nothing to do with Windows XP. Rolling Eyes

Windows Live Messenger is part of the Microsoft company, but they don't charge you for it!!

Nope can't seem to sign in, though no report from mess.be, here is what they had to say about yesterdays events: -

Quote:

Apart from my own experience, I'm receiving many reports from Messers around the globe that they're having problems sending instant messages to each other over Windows Live/MSN Messenger. Most of the IMs bounce back with the message that they "could not be delivered to all recipients". No idea what's going on but for now we'll have to be patient until the issue resolves.

UPDATE: Everything seems to be normal again.

I'm on fine atm. And to those saying "it's free so you haven't got a right to complain", consider the fact that ads are built in to the software and MS will be making fairly big profits on them. As such it would be in their interests to maintain a decent service level and from a user's POV it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect one either. If they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts then fair enough, but they're not.

Also it's an inbuilt part of the OS in both XP and Vista so you are paying for it really (assuming your OS is legit).

MSN goes down what? Once a year.

We pay for Sky TV and that goes down much more often.

At the end of the day you don't pay for the software. You don't have to use MSN either.

3 times in the last month alone to my knowledge.

Once in a year so far.

I have to have the annoying ad in the corner of my eye though don't I.

Best option, but considering MSN cornered the market by being bundled with windows, not really much choice due to everyone now using MSN as it was the first thing they came across.

If ads are that much of a problem then there are plenty of patches around that fix this.

www.msgpluslive.net

www.mess.be for the mess patch.

Seems to be down more regularly than that for me. I'm not complaining anyway, I just disagree with the "it's totally free" notion because it is developed as part of a fairly expensive OS and is also monetised through ads.

On a slightly unrelated I see you're the the most recent BCFer to appear in Ride. How many of us actually haven't been in there now?
