I often take my lil bro out on my bike. He has full leathers but as the temp is dropping his entheusiasm isnt. i cant really afford winter kit for him and i'd prefer him in leathers anyway. whats the best way to keep him warm? I'm thinking a small waterproof jacket and trousers to keep the wind out. but its feet and hands im thinking. we use the love handles (a belt i wear with handles he can hold on to) so on my naked bike his hands get as much wind blast as mine do (but i have heated grips). any sugestions? stick a fleece over the top of the leathers - can look a bit funny but it keeps you pretty warm

yeah he stole my girlfriends isle of man fleece. it fits over his jacket perfect. It's his hands and feet im worried about.

thicker socks - or another pair and get some winter gloves from the nec show - bet you can get a cheapo pair for about £5

Pair of those big two-fingered gloves over his normal ones should do the trick for his hands.

Thermal socks on his feet, possibly a pair of boots a size too big so he can wear twpo or three pairs of socks in them?

if you keep his core body temp up his hands and feet wont get cold,

more layers over or under jacket really does help

ebay probably has cheap winter gear tho to be honest

my winter gloves were about a fiver

You can get waterproof overgloves & boots that will keep the wind out & also thermal liners that aren't too dear. Try outdoor shops as well as bike shops for the thermal liners

keep him wearing the summer gear but buy him an all in one waterproof (padded/lined etc) that he can put over the top and get him to wear a few thin layers. Add a pair of thermal socks and winter gloves - hey presto!

Get him a paddock jacket, thats the top half sorted. Waterproof keks will keep the wind off.
