LOL, i had a few of W.T.F moments with my NSR today.
Isnt that the restrictor? that white thing with the small hole in it?
The thing its attached to is the reedblock right.
Looks like the normal restrictor in the de-restriction guide of this site to me?

LOL!
Anyway, should it be safe to remove this and put everything back together? that gold thing im holding up was where the intake restrictor should be
Also just noticed the carb says [b]PHBH28[/] on the side.........is this of any significance?
Cheers guys

personally I think its just a new typoe of restrictor. Pull it out and throw it away mate.
The bit remaining looks like mine did so I think Honda have just used a new design to be honest. ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

See if you can take the gold part of it off, if you can then you could try slotting it back in there without that. Then see how it runs.
(only taking out the intake restrictor won't make much different at all to the speed - you wanna take the exhaust restrictor out too.)

Ok panic time...........
left that part out, and put everything back together. Bike wont start
Took everything apart again, put that part back in, and put everything back together.....................bike still wont start
Have made sure fuel is on, and connected, have made sure engine stop is not pushed in, but when i push the started it just turns over and over and over.......almost as if it is out of fuel (but it isnt!)
Any suggestions?

Stick on a bit of choke, it's probably just trying to get fuel through the lines. or check the spark-Plug ____________________ Back on a Blade. Just feels so right. |

Umm simple answer, it's not a restrictor. We had those on our nsr's, leave em in I'm sure Keith can tell us exactly what it is, but from what I know it's something to do with helping keep the fuel/air mix flowing smoothly (Don't hold me to that description) ____________________ -Zimma |

Just looks like a normal reedblock to me. Those flaps are the reeds right?
If it doesnt start its because it takes about 5 minutes to fill up the carburettor and fuel lines and get into the reed assembly.
If you take the spark plug out it should be wet, if it isnt then the fuel isnt getting through.
What fun |

The PHBH is the model of your carb and 28 is the size, 28mm.
It probably isnt restricted in the inlet manifold, have you took the throttle slide out of the top, there could be those 3 farty washers mangled into the spring which just fall out in your hand once you remove the slide?
Is it a UK bike or an import?

The 28mm isn't the jet size.
Its the overall size of the carburettor. Mopeds have 12mm or 17.5mm carburettors.
